Translation

Your text is handled by three language specialists: a translator, an editor, and a proofreader. The translated text is conceptually and terminologically precise and ready to be shared with a wider audience. We use this translation workflow for texts with various purposes, such as website content, advertising copy, press releases, articles, and user manuals. Sometimes, though, you might need a quicker and simpler solution or a custom solution – we will gladly adjust to your requirements every single time.

Editing

At Keelestuudio, proofreading is already included in the translation process – be it human translation or a blend of human and machine translation. Our editors ensure that the translated text is grammatically and terminologically accurate and its style aligns with the original text. Professional editing largely defines the final quality of the translation.

Editing can also be ordered as a standalone service. We edit both translated texts and native content.

Depending on the purpose of the text, editing can be more or less comprehensive. During proofreading, we check your text for grammatical accuracy, language use, and sentence structure. Professional editing also includes checking the terminological accuracy of the translated text.

Machine translation post-editing (MTPE) is a process where a human editor corrects and refines machine-translated text. This includes checking grammar, spelling, style, and terminology, as well as adapting the text to the cultural and linguistic norms of the target language. The goal is to make the machine translation understandable and easily readable while preserving the meaning of the original text.

Depending on the purpose of your text, you can choose a more or less comprehensive solution:

Light post-editing focuses on correcting obvious errors, such as grammar, spelling, and major terminological inconsistencies. Text edited this way is understandable and meets the basic requirements of the target language without focusing significantly on style, idiomatic expressions, or the finer nuances of the text. The aim is to achieve a ‘good enough’ translation quality, suitable for situations where your time or financial resources are limited, or where stylistic elegance is not a top concern.

Full post-editing is a more thorough process where, in addition to correcting obvious mistakes, the editor focuses on the style, tone, and cultural context. The goal is to bring the machine-translated text as close to a high-quality human translation as possible. Full post-editing requires deeper linguistic and cultural knowledge and more detailed work with the text.

Interpretation

Simultaneous interpretation

In simultaneous interpretation, the interpretation occurs concurrently with the presentation. This ensures that there is no delay, making simultaneous interpretation perfectly suited for longer, formal events with a large audience. In case of events exceeding two hours,  two interpreters will work in pairs for intervals of 20-30 minutes, alternating their duties. Traditionally, interpreters work from an interpreting booth, allowing them a view of the room. They wear headsets and speak into a microphone. If needed, we also handle everything from interpretation booths to the necessary technical equipment.

Whispered interpretation

Whispered interpretation is a good choice when only one or two attendees require interpretation services. In this case, the interpreter positions themselves next to the listeners, separated from the rest of the audience, and quietly relays the necessary information to them.

Consecutive interpretation

With consecutive interpretation, the interpreter translates the content after every few sentences, which extends the duration of the event. This option is more cost-effective compared to simultaneous interpretation and does not require special interpretation equipment.

Remote interpretation

Both consecutive and simultaneous interpretation can be performed remotely. In such cases, our interpreters deliver their services via a video link on web-based platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.).

Localisation

Localisation involves not just translating text but also adapting it for the target market, taking into account local linguistic, cultural, and other practices. Localisation is commonly used in the context of websites, product descriptions, and advertising texts.

A localised text is natural, fluent, and speaks directly to a specific audience – the reader does not perceive it as a translation.

Website translation

A website serves as a company’s digital storefront, and a website translated with high quality conveys reliability to customers. The era of manually copying website texts is over – we now harness the power of cutting-edge technology.

Transcription

Transcription is the process of converting spoken words from a video or audio file into written text, which can then be used for translation and/or creating subtitles.

Transcription can be verbatim (it’s necessary to preserve background noise – like laughter – incomplete phrases, and words) or edited (we omit unnecessary repetitions and sentence fillers and, if needed, adjust the word order in sentences).

Term base development and management

We create a terminology database for you with the most common terms in your text or project. We enhance your existing term base or create an entirely new one, ensuring that all future translations are accurate and meet your expectations.
